I know many frequenting self-help, have come across Jordan Peterson. He has sold many books and has a very popular YouTube presence and is known in many circles. The work he has done has been truly transformative for many as he has helped many through his work.
Recently, he has made comments about how Conservatives need to abandon the idea that the election was stolen to find peace with democrats. This idea presupposes that the narrative of the election being stolen is false but what if it is true?
If the only way you could have peace with another person, was to forgive them for raping you, would you be able to do it? Maybe. What if those you forgive, have shown no signs they are remorseful or regretful for the wrongs they have. Would you still forgive them to find “peace”?
Ultimately, any peace can only come when both parties are honest about intentions and are trying to seek peace. If one or both are simply gaming the system, this cannot work and will fail quickly.
When Jordan Peterson first hit the scene, I was a huge fan. I purchased many copies of his "12 Rules for Life" book and gave them as gifts.
I haven't admired Peterson for quite a while. I believe that his book has helped a lot of people, mostly young men, however, he doesn't walk the walk.
His wife fell ill and a doctor proscribed him some narcotics which he became addicted to. He claimed that he had no idea that he would become addicted, and passed the blame to the prescribing doctor. Also, he came to lecture near where I live, and the cheapest seat was $250 with some seats over $1100. I love the free market, and he was selling out venues, but when big money becomes involved, people show who they truly are.
And his daughter is a skank.
